EMANUELE MANZI WINS THE SANTA CATERINA WINTER TRAIL

Emanuele Manzi claimed victory at the first edition of the Santa Caterina Winter Trail, held on Sunday, March 8, in Santa Caterina Valfurva. The race covered 14 km with 600 meters of elevation gain on snow along the cross-country trails that have previously hosted the World Cup and are considered among the toughest on the winter circuit.

The race is organized by Run For, an association of young women from Valtellina who are active in the field of women’s cancer prevention.

Bright sunshine and perfect snow greeted the approximately 300 athletes—both competitive and recreational—at the starting line of the 5-km race on Sunday. Manzi prevailed over Phil Gale, a British runner with Runner Varese, and the experienced mountain guide Guido Giacomelli.

Among the women, Emily Collenge was the first to cross the finish line, placing sixth overall, followed by local athlete Elisa Desco, with Elisa Sortini coming in third.

Emanuele was supported in his victory by Oxyburn apparel—underwear and socks that once again demonstrated their versatility and performance in all conditions and on every type of terrain.
