Thanks to the holiday on Thursday, this week’s trail running races will actually kick off in the middle of the week—on June 2, Republic Day—so let’s find out where we can go trail running between Thursday, June 2, and Sunday, June 5.

THURSDAY, the 2nd, in Fraveggio di Vezzano, Trento, the Tour Laghi will kick off—a 35k multi-stage trail race with 3,500 meters of elevation gain; in Cursecoli, Emilia Romagna, the Nespoli Trail will take place—a 30k race with 1,800 meters of elevation gain; in Firenzuola, Florence, everything is set for the Trail le Tre Cime, a 21-kilometer race with 1,150 meters of elevation gain; in Vicovaro, Rome, the Monti Lucretini Ecological and Cultural Marathon will feature a 21k long course with 400 meters of elevation gain and a 9k short course with 300 meters of elevation gain; in Polesio, Ascoli Piceno,the Calanghi Ecotrail will take athletes on a 14k course with 778 meters of elevation gain through the area’s geological sites, while in Montepulciano,the Eco Giro al Lago di Montepulciano will take place, a 13-kilometer course with 120 meters of elevation gain, in Terrinca, Siena, the Trofeo Parco Alpi Apuane, an 11.8-kilometer race with 1,000 meters of elevation gain; and in Valbondione, Bergamo,the Orobie Vertical, a 3-kilometer race with 1,000 meters of elevation gain.
On FRIDAY, the 3rd, a 9k Urban Night Trail with a total elevation gain of 520 meters will take place only in Perugia, while on SATURDAY, the 4th, races will be held in Vigolo Vattaro, Trento, for the Vigolana Half Trail—a 35-kilometer race with 2,000 meters of elevation gain—in Lecco for the Resegup Skyrace—a 24-kilometer race with 1,800 meters of elevation gain—in Baratti, Livorno, for the Baratti Populonia Trail—a 14k race with 500 meters of elevation gain—and in Febbio, Reggio Emilia, for the Cusna Vertical K—a 4k race with 1,000 meters of elevation gain.
Finally, there will be a total of 14 trail running races taking place on SUNDAY, June 5:
Alpago Trail, Farra d’Alpago, Belluno: 60k with 3,000 meters of elevation gain.
Cortina Dobbiaco Run, Cortina d’Ampezzo: 30k with 300 meters of elevation gain.
Alpago 21k, Puos d’Alpago, Belluno: 21k with 900 meters of elevation gain.
Gir de le Malghe, Caregno, Brescia: 25 km with 2,000 meters of elevation gain.
Maddalena Trail, Taggia, Imperia: 25k with 1,000 meters of elevation gain and 12k with 600 meters of elevation gain.
On the trails of Marco Olmo, Robilante, Cuneo: 15.3 km with 850 meters of elevation gain.
Monte Prampa Trail, Villa Minozzo, Reggio Emilia: 21k with 1,300 meters of elevation gain.
Trail Pan e Formai, Pellegrino Parmense, Parma: 21k with 1,000 meters of elevation gain and 10k with 600 meters of elevation gain.
Wild Marathon, Cantagallo, Prato: 21k with 1,000 meters of elevation gain.
Intrasca Valley Marathon, Verbania: 35k with 1,634 meters of elevation gain and 16.9k with 353 meters of elevation gain.
Lucoli Trail, Lucoli, L’Aquila: 20k with 1,500 meters of elevation gain.
Trail 165, Terni: 15k with 1,100 meters of elevation gain.
Vesuvius Ecotrail, San Giuseppe Vesuviano, Naples: 22k with 1,200 meters of elevation gain.
Abies Trail, Polizzi Generosa, Palermo: 23 km with 2,050 meters of elevation gain.
