TRAIL RUNNING: OXYBURN RECOMMENDS WHERE TO COMPETE ON MARCH 5 AND 6

Veneto, Tuscany, Lombardy, Piedmont, Emilia-Romagna, Sardinia, and Basilicata: from the Florence Urban Trail to the Ciaspaltissima della Marmolada, you’ll be spoiled for choice!

The highlight of the weekend of March 5 and 6, 2016, will undoubtedly be the Firenze Urban Trail, an urban trail race held within the historic center of the Tuscan capital: The event kicks off on Saturday, March 5, with the 12k Trail by Night, featuring 300 meters of elevation gain, and continues on Sunday, March 6, with the twoUrban Trail routes: the 30k course and the 45k ultratrail, which will take runners on a journey through the city center as well as the surrounding hills.
Still in Tuscany, but this time in Vorno, in the province of Lucca, the “Walk Through the Woods of Vorno” will take place, featuring 20k, 15k, 12k, and 7k routes with elevation gains ranging from 800 to 200 meters.
Staying in central Italy, in Emilia-Romagna, Ravenna will host the “Valli e Pinete” race over distances of 30k and 21k, while in Sardinia it will be time for the “Trail del Marganai,” a 26k race with 1,250 meters of elevation gain, which will take place in Domusnovas. Back on the mainland, in Basilicata, in Viaggianello, in the province of Potenza, everything is set for the “Ciaspolando Verso Sud,” a 5k snowshoe race.
Heading back north, in Veneto, participants will take part in the Ciaspaltissima della Marmolada, a 3k snowshoe race with 315 meters of elevation gain starting from Malga Ciapela in the Belluno area; in Liguria, the Trail del Marchesato will liven up the Finalborgo area; Savona, featuring two routes—one 37k with 2,000 meters of elevation gain and one 16k with 1,000 meters of elevation gain. In Lombardy, the Bozz Trails, 27k and 12k, in Arsago Sepio (Varese), andthe Eridano Adventure in Casalmaggiore, Cremona, featuring two courses of 20k and 9k. The final trail running event, La Traccia Bianca, is an 8-kilometer race with 280 meters of elevation gain that will take place on Alpe Devero in Piedmont.
