At the 120th Boston Marathon, Said Boudalia, a member of Team Oxyburn, achieved an outstanding result by finishing first in the M45 category.

On April 18, the 120th edition of the Boston Marathon—the world’s longest-running 42k race—took place, the same race that was marred by the tragic bombing in 2013. Despite the tragedy three years ago, athletes and spectators did not abandon the race, sending a powerful message of courage. Furthermore, the race on April 18 marked Said Boudalia’s fifth Boston Marathon. Boudalia, one of Italy’s top runners at this distance, finished first in the M45 category with an excellent time of 2h27’41”.
We reached out to the Italian-Moroccan athlete, who has been a member of Team Oxyburn for some time, to ask him why the Boston Marathon is so special: “The Boston Marathon,” Said explained, “isn’t just the oldest in the world, but also one of the 42k races with the most beautiful course of all… Reaching Heartbreak Hill—the legendary ‘heartbreaker’ located between the 32nd and 33rd kilometers, flanked by two endless wings of spectators… well, it’s an incredibly powerful emotion, as well as a natural boost to tackle the final kilometers of the race.”
And what about the Oxyburn gear you used during the race—how did you find it? “During the race,” Said replied, “I wore a full Oxyburn outfit, which is absolutely essential for me. I’ll go even further— I wore Oxyburn long pants even during the nearly ten-hour trip: that way, I improved my circulation and relaxed my muscles!
Graduated compression socks are another story: for the race, I used a pair of Level III compression socks, the 1480 – Running Track—but I never go anywhere without them, as they’re essential for performance: the fabric’s ‘massage’ effect stimulates circulation, improves oxygen distribution, and—most importantly for us marathoners—delays the buildup of lactic acid!”
