OFF-ROAD RUNNING BETWEEN JULY 1 AND 3

The most interesting events of the weekend will undoubtedly be the first edition of the Primiero Dolomiti Marathon in Fiera di Primiero and the 10th Tre Campanili Half Marathon in Vestone

The first weekend of trail running in July will kick off on Friday, July 1, with the Vertical Dal Louf in Sella Nevea, in the province of Udine—a race just 5k long but with an elevation gain of 1,060 meters—and will continue with the Genova Night Trail, an evening urban trail race that will wind through the streets of the Ligurian capital, offering three different routes: a 30k course with 1,500 meters of elevation gain, a 20k course with 700 meters of elevation gain, and a 10k course with 300 meters of elevation gain.

Then, on Saturday the 2nd, it will be time for the Brixen Marathon in Bressanone, Bolzano—a 33k race with a total elevation gain of 1,600 meters—and the first edition of the Primiero Dolomiti Marathon in Fiera di Primiero, featuring three different courses: 42k, 26k, and 6k, all with relatively modest elevation gains: the Dolomites Marathon, in fact, is presented as a trail running event suitable for everyone, even less experienced runners. In addition to the two South Tyrolean races, July 2 will also feature the Moscato Night Trail in Coppie di Cossano Belbo, Cuneo—a 15k race with 700 meters of elevation gain—the La Thiule Trail in La Thuile, Aosta—a 25k race with 1,800 meters of elevation gain—and the Trail dei Monti Simbruini in Subiaco, Rome—a 28.1k race with 1,115 meters of elevation gain and a 13.2k race with 590 meters of elevation gain.

Sunday, July 3, will be the day of the Balconata del Monte Zerbion in Chatillon, Aosta—a trail race featuring no fewer than five different courses: 30k, 20k, 14k, 12k, and 6k, with elevation gains ranging from 1,300 to 150 meters; the Trail della Roccia in Pecorara, Piacenza—a 30k race with 1,200 meters of elevation gain; the Canin Skyrace in Sella Nevea, Udine, a 25k with 2,500 meters of elevation gain; the Tre Campanili Half Marathon in Vestone, Brescia, a 21k with 700 meters of elevation gain, now in its tenth edition; the Alpi di Susi Half Marathon in Compaccio, Bolzano, the 21k with 600 meters of elevation gain at the Trail Difesa San Biagio in Montescaglioso, Matera; the 18k with 800 meters of elevation gain; and the 10 Miglia Aviano Piancavallo in Pordenone, a 16k race with 1,120 meters of elevation gain.
Also on Sunday in Serramazzoni, Modena, there will be the Adventure Trail Exploria, a 16k race with 1,010 meters of elevation gain; in Ravenna, the Urban Trail Ravenna Città d’Acque, a 16k or 7.5k race with no elevation gain; and in Cardoso, Lucca, the Vertical 1.5 Cardoso Pania, a 5.8-kilometer race with 1,500 meters of elevation gain; in Ormena, Cuneo, the Ormea Monte Armetta Vertical Kilometer, a 5.5k race with 1,000 meters of elevation gain; in Resia, the Val Resia Vertical, a 4.7k race with 1,000 meters of elevation gain; in Stenico, Trento, the Valandro Vertical Race, 3.3 km with 1,100 meters of elevation gain; and in Lisciano, Rieti, the Terminillo Sky Race, 24.4 km with 2,350 meters of elevation gain.
