For the second year in a row, Maurizia Cunico was the first to cross the finish line at the Naples International Marathon—Banca del Sud Trophy.

Compared to last year’s race, my time was a bit slower (3:00:01), partly due to the weather conditions—with a headwind and occasional rain—as well as not being in top form, as she explains herself: “I wasn’t in the best shape, but in the end, it’s still an important victory. I wanted to come back to Naples because last year, on my first visit to this fantastic city, I found amazing locations and was given an excellent welcome by the people. I have to say, I’m in love with Naples.”

For the runner from Vicenza, racing in Naples was a useful training session in preparation for the upcoming Rome Marathon on March 22, her goal for the season.
