Let’s take a look at the most exciting trail and ultra events on the penultimate weekend of July

On Friday, July 22, in Collelongo, in the province of L’Aquila, the “Giostra degli antichi Marsi” will take place—a 13.7-kilometer trail running race with 819 meters of elevation gain—while on Saturday, July 23, it will be time for one of the quintessential classics of the Vicenza area, the Trans d’Havet Marathon, a 40-kilometer race with 2,500 meters of elevation gain and an 80-kilometer ultra with 5,500 meters of elevation gain.
The other races on SATURDAY, the 23rd, were also beautiful, challenging, and very well-attended. That day will feature many trail running classics, such as the Stralivigno, a 21k race with 600 meters of elevation gain;the Ecotrail dell’Orso in the Abruzzo National Park, a 16.7k race with 989 meters of elevation gain; and, above all, the three races of the Cima Tauffi Trail in Fanano, Modena—a 60K with 4,000 meters of elevation gain, a 35K with 2,000 meters of elevation gain, and a 12K with 450 meters of elevation gain—the Raidlight Etna Trail, a 90K with 4,700 meters of elevation gain, a 24K with 1,500 meters of elevation gain, and a 16K with 850 meters of elevation gain; and the ultra races in Scuron, a 42K with 1,000 meters of elevation gain, and in Valesia, a 45K with a total elevation gain of 4,000 meters.
Finally, there will be three races in Lombardy taking place on SUNDAY, the 24th: the Gir di Mont di Premana, Lecco, a 32k race with 2,400 meters of elevation gain and a 20k race with 1,110 meters of elevation gain; the Vertical del Monte Guglielmo in Caregno, Brescia, a 6.1k race with 1,000 meters of elevation gain; and the Bagolino Alpin Run in Bagolino, Brescia—the sixth and final stage of the Valle Sabbia and Alto Garda Mountain Running Grand Prix.
Also on Sunday, in Pieve di Livinallongo, Belluno, the Vertical Km Col de Lana will take place—a 2k race with 1,000 meters of elevation gain; in Picinisco, Frosinone, the Trail della Meta—a 13k race with 800 meters of elevation gain; in Stroncone, Terni, the Prati di Stroncone Outdoor Trail Running, a 16k race with 800 meters of elevation gain; and in Novezza del Monte Baldo, Verona, the beautiful Trail della Speranza, a 35k race with 1,800 meters of elevation gain and a 25k race with 1,250 meters of elevation gain.
