After finishing second in the Valentine’s Day Marathon on February 19, Oxyburn Ambassador Carmine Buccilli won the Strasimeno 58k with a solo run in the pouring rain.
LAKE TRASIMENO – In the second half of 2016, he had all but disappeared from the rankings—he whose name, until just a few weeks earlier, had almost always appeared at the top of the finishers’ list: a period of exhaustion, stress, and difficulties, both physical and mental… that was swept away in a flash with the arrival of 2017! In fact, after making a spectacular comeback on February 19 by taking second place at the San Valentino Marathon in Terni, yesterday on the shores of Lake Trasimeno, Carmine Buccilli, an Oxyburn brand ambassador, won the Strasimeno 58k by a landslide with a record time of 3h28’59” and an average pace of 3’36” per kilometer.

“I’d never run that far before,” Carmine said at the end of the race, “it was basically 58k run alone in a downpour. That’s exactly why the Oxyburn gear—the graduated-compression pants and long socks—was exceptional because, in addition to the massaging effect, thanks to its unique construction and fabric blend, it didn’t get completely soaked even when wet, allowing me to run without any discomfort.”
A note… of a kabbalistic nature: The women’s Strasimeno 58k was won by Silvia Tamburi, the same athlete who had won the San Valentino Marathon in Terni—the race that marked Carmine’s return to competitive running… Well, even if you can’t “read or write,” it would be worth keeping an eye on which race Silvia will compete in next…

Carmine wore: 1480 Running Track third-level compression tights, 5012 KylyĂ n second-level compression shorts, and a 5060 Skyrace long-sleeve shirt.
