With Oxyburn, discover the packed schedule of mountain running and snowshoe races for the first weekend in March

One event, six races: On Saturday, March 4, and Sunday, March 5, the highly anticipated Firenze Urban Trail 2017 will return. Kicking off the event on Saturday will be the Firenze Urban Walking and the captivating 13 km by Night, while Sunday will feature the 30 km and 45 km races, the Challenge, andthe Ultra Challenge. Thousands of athletes are expected for the two-day event in Florence, where—thanks to an early spring—they’ll spend a weekend filled with sports, culture, and good food.

In Finalborgo, Liguria, Sunday, March 5, will be the day of the Trail del Marchesato on the Ermano Fossati Trail, featuring a 37k race with 2,200 meters of elevation gain and a 16k race with 1,000 meters of elevation gain. The trail will run entirely along limestone paths and will be a true sky running race overlooking the sea.

47k and 2,200 meters of elevation gain, 27k, 17k, and the Walk: these are the four events offered by the Trail del Marganai, a beautiful trail race featuring an ultra-distance course that will start in Domusnovas, in the province of Cagliari.

But since, despite the temperatures, it’s still winter, here isthe eleventh snowshoe and cross-country skiingrace counting toward the 2017 Neve Azzurra Trophy: the “Ciaspolando verso Sud” in Piano Ruggio, at the foot of the Pollino Massif, and the Dolomiti Winter Trail, a 10k race with 400 meters of elevation gain or a 20k race with 900 meters of elevation gain.

The 3 Santi Trail, in the Brescia area, promises to be beautiful, challenging, and evocative—a mountain running race featuring
two courses: the 17k 3 Santi Trail with 1,200 meters of elevation gain andthe Eremitica Trail, the flagship race at 36k with a staggering 2,380 meters of elevation gain. Finally, in Nemi, Rome, Sunday, March 5, will mark the second edition of the Trail del Bosco Sacro, an 11k mountain running race starting at 10:30 a.m.
