1345 RUN EVOSMART-HD

October 2015

October? Is it October already? It feels like June to me… After the long break due to the summer heat wave, I got back on track in September with high hopes, but the temperature has remained much higher than usual.
I’m getting every last bit of use out of the legendary Model 1260 socks, which are wrapping up their run with a thousand kilometers under their belt. It’s time to move on to something even better: I’m about to try out the Model 1345 socks.

With the package in hand (the packaging is always top-notch), I notice once again that Smart-HD technology is used in this model, which has a purely summery design—so it’s still perfectly suited for the season.
I’m really curious to try out the 2nd-level compression on such a short sock.
The classic white and blue color scheme makes them visually appealing. The yarns used are, as always, high-quality and reliable. To the touch, the socks are extremely light and thin, with features designed for support and breathability, including differentiated zones and thicknesses. When worn, they fit perfectly, and the compression is immediately noticeable on the ankle even when standing still, without constricting the foot. But will they hold up? Let’s hit the road.

The routes I run during my training sessions are almost always the same, but I’m lucky enough to be able to run on hilly terrain, which allows me to experience a bit of everything: The socks’ grip is always perfect, whether I’m running downhill, tackling uphill sections, or on flat terrain. The sock stays in place, doesn’t twist, and my foot feels “bare” in the best sense of the word. Zero chafing thanks to the seamless construction, and breathability is, as always, top-notch. The compressive support around the ankle is remarkable.
I tested them repeatedly in various situations, from long, slow runs to interval training and even in races at faster paces. The first round of testing involved 7 consecutive uses without washing (this time I wanted to push the limits a bit more). No odor buildup, no irritation—I wasn’t even sure I should put them in the washing machine.
I put the socks back on after giving them a week’s rest: the feel is still great, so I decided to wear them on a quick trail run with lightweight shoes. Even under these conditions, the socks never shifted or slipped, not even on the most technical sections.
Temperatures have dropped slightly, but I don’t feel the chill. The product is also perfectly thermoregulatory because it maintains the foot’s optimal temperature, so they’ll be comfortably adaptable even in the middle of winter.

Here comes the worthy evolution of the 1260 model—once you try them, it’s hard to imagine going back.
With this product, Oxyburn sets a new standard for road running, even over long distances, for all those who don’t like long socks and extreme compression.
