Winner of the CagliariRespira Cagliari Half Marathon for the fourth time, Boudalia—sponsored by Oxyburn—crossed the finish line ahead of Merenda and Boi on Sunday, December 6, improving on the time with which he had won the 2014 edition.
1h07’46”: That was the time with which Said Boudalia, a 47-year-old Italian-Moroccan athlete from Atletica Boitekna Marcon, won the eighth edition of the 2015 CagliariRespira Half Marathon in Cagliari on Sunday, December 6, which awarded the regional titles for the event. Rounding out the men’s podium were Sardinian Michele Merenda, who finished second as he did last year, and first-time participant Damiano Boi. The women’s podium, on the other hand, was entirely Sardinian, with a one-two-three finish by Pinna, Manca, and Ferru.
Fresh off his victory in the 35th Frangarto Fall Half Marathon, which took place on Sunday, November 15, in the province of Bolzano, as well as in the 2015 Sedico Run (23 km) and the Soiano Garda Run (11 km), Said, a four-time winner of the 21km race in Cagliari, repeated his 2014 result this year, shaving about twenty seconds off his time. As the star runner of the Oxyburn team, Said Boudalia crossed the finish line alone, finishing more than a minute ahead of the athlete from the Cagliari Marathon Club.
