OXYBURN RECOMMENDS THE TRAIL RACES ON MARCH 18 AND 19

Let’s find out where to go off-road on the third weekend of March 2017

Sunday, March 19, in Casalmaggiore, Cremona, will mark the fourth edition of the Eridano Adventure Trail, an off-road race featuring two courses: a 21k Half Marathon and a 10k Short Trail. Rounding out the trail running event is the non-competitive “Corri per Mietta” race. All routes will take participants through the virtually uninhabited floodplains of the Po River and the sandy plains located between the provinces of Parma and Cremona.

Participants in the fifth Trail delle Vie Cave di Pitigliano will cover 30 kilometers and 650 meters of elevation gain, a race that takes place almost entirely on trails, with 80 percent single track, 10 percent dirt roads, and the rest on asphalt. In addition to the long trail, there is a shorter 14-kilometer course with 350 meters of elevation gain. Participants must wear trail running shoes, carry a whistle, and have a fully charged cell phone.

There will be three different distances at the Trail dei Monti Pisani on Sunday, March 19: a Long Trail of 45.6k with 2,712 meters of elevation gain, a Medium Trail, the Valgraziosa Trail, covering 26.5 km with a total elevation gain of 1,350 meters; and a Short Trail, the Verruca Trail, covering 17.8 km with a total elevation gain of 1,004 meters.

Starting from Piazza IV Novembre in Pont-Saint-Martin and finishing at the Maison du Boulodrome, The Electric Trail returns this Sunday a trail running race featuring a 42k course and an 18k course, with the 42k race starting at 7:00 a.m. and the 18k race starting at 8:30 a.m.

In Varigotti, Liguria, the Varigotti Run Trail will take place—a non-competitive trail run featuring a 9k course with 400 meters of elevation gain. The race starts at 10:30 a.m. In Positano, meanwhile, the Beach Trail Positano will take place, featuring a 30-kilometer course with 1,970 meters of elevation gain and a 12-kilometer course with 950 meters of elevation gain, while in Gemona del Friuli, the first edition of the Monte Ercole Trail will take place—a non-competitive 17k mountain race with a 700-meter elevation gain that will follow the trails of the Great War.

On the other hand, it returns, Saturday, March 18, 2017 the highlight of early spring for the red-and-white running community… theUltrabericus Trail. The quintessential race that kicks off the off-road running season, Ultrabericus will once again feature its well-established 65 km trail course with 2,500 mD+ in 2017, which will be run counterclockwise, as is traditional in odd-numbered years. The Twin Relay has also been confirmed , featuring a first leg of 34 km and a second leg of 31 km, both covering the same elevation gain as the main race. But the highlight of the year will be the debut of the Urban course, offering 22 km of pure fun across 750 m of elevation gain, winding through the streets of Vicenza’s historic center, up to Arcugnano, and back into the city.
