IMPROVE YOUR PERFORMANCE: WORK ON YOUR RUNNING TECHNIQUE

Are you having trouble improving your running pace or incorporating speed variations into your workouts? Focus on your running form and dynamic strength training. Here are a few ideas for incorporating a section dedicated to athletic paces into your workouts.

Basic Exercises for Developing Running Technique

  • Rolled Heel and Toe
  • Kicked from behind
  • Skip
  • One-Legged Skipping
  • Double Hop Step
  • Forward kick with straight legs
  • Gallop, Circular Run

Combinations of gaits

  • Forward Kick While Moving Forward
  • Progressive Gallop
  • One leg bent and the other kicked back
  • Skip from narrow to wide
  • Frequently kicked from behind\bounced
  • From the skip to the run
  • From the back kick to the run
  • From a Leap to a Run

Strength Training Exercises

  • Lunges
  • Counter-folded
  • Bringing the knees to the chest
  • Step: Frog Jumps 1/2 Squat with Hell Jump
  • single-leg squats with and without a jump

Keep in mind that all of these exercises—especially jumps and strength training—put a strain on your joints and muscles. During these sessions, choose a pair of compression socks or calf sleeves with compression level II or III that are designed for training and performance.
