I found myself in the lead right away; I wanted to push myself and give it my all. I had a strong athlete right beside me, and I knew it would be a two-man race that would come down to the finish. The wind bothered me a bit on the way back, in the second half, but overall I can say I felt good and it was a great race. This is my third time coming to Muggia; I really like this event and am happy to travel from my hometown of Mantua to race here. The course is flat and fast, with beautiful scenery, and it’s not too demanding on the muscles. Definitely worth doing again.
These were the words spoken by Marco Najibe Salami at the end of the 14th edition of the Mujalonga sul Mar on Sunday, April 23, which counted as the second race of the Province of Trieste Trophy, in which the Oxyburn Testimonial athlete secured victory only in the final stretch with a time of 30’16”, adding his name to the roll of honor of Trieste’s classic 10K race for the second time, following his 2015 win.

Gabriele Manzi, the king of vertical and tower runs, also had an excellent race, which took place overnight from Saturday to Sunday. In Seoul, at the 2017 Lotte World Tower International Sky Run, he secured an outstanding third-place finish, placing him among the very top of the overall standings in the International Vertical Circuit.

1h26’41”: This is the time with which Marco Ferrari, an athlete from Atletica Paratico, finished the Sarnico–Lovere Run on Sunday, April 23: thanks to this time and his tenth-place finish, Marco also made it onto the podium in his age group, taking third place in the SM40 category.

Orazio Bottura also finished in an impressive 10th place overall, as well as first in his category, in what was an atypical race for him: the Olympic Triathlon—the one held at Milan’s Idroscalo—achieved a solid finish, marking his debut in the triathlon.

Finally, congratulations to ultra runner Ilaria Fossati, who, after competing in endurance races throughout 2017, took part in her first trail race of the year on Sunday, April 23 — the Val Bregaglia Trail— where she finished in 12th place with a time of 6h48’50” and took first place in her category:
“The race was marked by a wide temperature range,” Ilaria said, “and the Oxyburn garments performed excellently in this regard, both in terms of retaining body heat and wicking away sweat.”
