To learn more about the world of alpine skiing, we met with Camilla Angoscini, a skilled ski instructor who has been passionate about the sport since she was a child.
What sports do you play, and how long have you been playing them?
For about ten years now, I’ve been practicing various sports: from trail running to rock climbing, from mountaineering to hiking. I’m passionate about constantly striving to improve. My true sport, however—the one that has motivated me more and more until it became my career—is alpine skiing.
When did your passion for skiing begin?
I’ve been skiing since I was 3 years old. Let’s just say that as a child and teenager, my parents were the ones who first encouraged me to take up this sport, but it wasn’t until later that I developed a true personal passion for it. My turning point in this sport came six years ago, on the Miramonti couloir, while I was watching the World Cup giant slalom race. At that moment, I decided I would become a ski instructor.
What was your journey to becoming a ski instructor?
After that fateful day, I looked for a professional instructor who could train me to achieve this great dream of mine. I knew it was an almost impossible dream to achieve, but I didn’t lose heart: with patience and dedication, after six years—never giving up and enduring many setbacks—I managed to pass the instructor selection process, the first step toward enrolling in the course. After passing that exam in 2019, I took the 90-day course. At the end, I took the final theoretical and practical exams, officially becoming a ski instructor. Today I work at a ski school in Madonna di Campiglio.
What features do you like about OXYBURN products?
They’re truly fantastic—the fabric is very soft, and they offer excellent value for the price. Even after frequent washing, they remain very stretchy and quickly absorb sweat, keeping you dry at all times.
What products would you suggest wearing for skiing?
For skiing, on not-too-cold days, I use the IMPACT 5066 and CORE 5061 T-shirts a lot, both in white and black; they fit perfectly. On colder days, I wear the ALPINE 5300 T-shirt, along with the MOTION 5071 leggings; they maintain the body’s microclimate perfectly. For socks, I use the THERMO SKI 1586 .
What are your future athletic plans?
I’d like to try to become a Level II ski instructor. I love always having new challenges and goals to work toward!
