Special events deserve special attention, because running through history is a unique experience.
It’s so exciting that it draws 3,000 athletes and 5,000 recreational runners from all over the peninsula to the historic center of this medieval city, which boasts some of the most fascinating city walls in Europe.
The 14th edition of the “Città Murata” Half Marathon in Cittadella, in the province of Padua, set new records. This historic event, born out of the proud passion of Cittadella’s half-marathon runners, has once again been confirmed as the seventh most-attended half marathon in Italy—an occasion to which Oxyburn has dedicated a limited edition of its Sky-Race.
The long-sleeved shirt, customized with the event logo and included in the 21km race packet, is the ideal functional compression base layer for reducing muscle vibrations and stimulating blood flow. By improving muscle tone, this garment helps enhance both movement control and body awareness.
In addition to its ultra-compact, lightweight, and soft construction, the inner layer made of Dryarn® promotes the wicking away of moisture and heat while maintaining a consistent body microclimate and ensuring a comfortable fit.
The unstoppable Italian Sara Dossena crossed the Oxyburn arch and crossed the finish line in 1h11’36”, posting the best 2019 performance by an Italian athlete in Italy, followed by Lorenza Beccaria (1h15’59”) and Sara Mangolini (1h20’16”). In the men’s race, Paolo Zanatta won in 1h08’08”, edging out Paolo Gallo (1h08’23”) and Giacomo Esposito (1h08’57”).
And history will continue to take center stage on December 20, 2020, when racing returns to Cittadella to celebrate not only a love of running but also the 800th anniversary of the town’s founding.
