The former Italian marathon champion, returning from a few weeks off, made her competitive comeback with an excellent second-place finish in the province of Milan.

BERNATE TICINO — It was supposed to be a “short run,” to get some kilometers under her belt and get back into the competitive spirit after a few weeks off due to injury. And that’s how it turned out—but only partly—because the Naviglio Night Run in Bernate Ticino, Milan, which took place on Friday, May 12, was not only an interesting training session for Ivana Iozzia, Oxyburn’s brand ambassador—who finished second on the podium with a time of 20’40”—but also a real race.

In fact, the only runner to finish ahead of her was Claudia Gelsomino, the day’s winner with a time of 19’46”, the only one to break the 20-minute mark. In the end, 54 seconds separated the two queens of Italian running, with Ivana finishing 14th overall. For this reason, Oxyburn applauds its rediscovered champion and now looks forward to seeing her compete at distances more suited to a former Italian Marathon Champion.
