HERE&#8217;S HOW TO DO IT"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Aside from the many athletes who, due to the intense heat in the summer, prefer to put their training and races on hold, most runners don\u2019t stop running but tend to adjust their training routines. In fact, it\u2019s not necessary to stop running when it\u2019s hot, despite the alarming and sensationalist headlines in many news reports. As always, just take it with a grain of salt!  <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-2840 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.oxyburn.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/WhatsApp-Image-2017-06-27-at-15.35.29.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"986\" height=\"694\"><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\"><b>WHEN SHOULD YOU RUN?<\/b><\/span><span class=\"s1\">  Honestly, you can go for a run at any time of day, but the best times in the summer are definitely before 8:00 a.m. and after 7:00 p.m., when temperatures are usually lower.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\"><b>WHERE TO RUN?<\/b><\/span><span class=\"s1\"> <\/span><span class=\"s3\">T<\/span><span class=\"s1\">Asphalt isn\u2019t pleasant for running in the summer, so it would undoubtedly be best to choose mountain trails\u2014or at least hilly routes\u2026 but city parks or fitness trails will work just fine, too. The greenery helps dissipate some of the heat, and there are often water fountains or shaded areas.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\"><b>GETTING USED TO THE HEAT?<\/b><\/span><span class=\"s1\"> It takes the body about two weeks to adjust to the rise in temperature. Until then, every workout will feel much harder: the advice is to reduce the intensity of your workouts during this adjustment period.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\"><b>WHAT TO WEAR?<\/b><\/span><span class=\"s1\"> We don\u2019t recommend running shirtless and without a hat in the summer! Without clothing, sweat evaporates even faster, which can affect your run. It\u2019s best to always wear lightweight technical clothing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\"><b>PROPER HYDRATION?<\/b><\/span><span class=\"s1\"> It\u2019s essential for our body\u2019s health and performance, but not as important when it comes to workouts under 10k. In all other cases, it\u2019s important to carry water bottles with you and take a sip every fifteen minutes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\"><b>DOES HEAT AFFECT PERFORMANCE?<\/b><\/span><span class=\"s1\">  Yes.
